Ernest Thompson is in his 90s and this World War II vet's health means that he can no longer visit the USS Iowa that he loves so much. So some of the volunteers from the museum with the help of Ernie's grandson decided to surprise this veteran with a special salute and his favorite song 'Anchors Aweigh.' And seeing this veteran's joy as he stands to salute brought a tear to my eye. What a beautiful thing!
