Mandisa, what an angelic voice. Her style is not my favorite, I am more a fan of modern praise and worship music, but her way of doing gospel-style music is very appealing. This is a song from her debut album, "True Beauty". Called "Voice Of A Savior", written by Matthew West and Samuel Mizell.

Wow, if this doesn't get your toes tapping, then nothing will. From the live album "Your Love Never Fails" (an absolute must-have, by the way). Kim Walker on lead vocal, awesome instrumental accompaniment, one of the most fun worship songs of all time. Thank you Tim Hughes and others for writing it.

Kim's "ha-ha"s add to the infectiousness of this song. So cute!

I made this video for Mandisa's song "God Speaking" from her 2007 album "True Beauty." Yeah, God speaks to us in many ways, we just have to be paying attention. Too often we offer our requests to Him via prayer, and then we fail to listen and we miss the answer. The answer may come in ways that we weren't expecting. Be ready.

Shiloh, the family dog, and 18-month-old Bryson Holloway were playing outside when Shiloh noticed something in the grass. The dog immediately jumped in front of young Bryson to shield him from the copperhead snake in the yard. Bryson's parents, who sat nearby, came running to intervene. Thankfully, everyone is okay and the family gives praises to God for their hero dog!

He introduced Jordan to Jesus and seeing the transformation the love of the Lord had on his life will inspire you!

This is the group I Am They singing "No Longer Slaves." Bethel Music's version is the more popular version, but I like this one better since there is less fervency and urgency and more gratefulness. Just my opinion. Plus I like country music, and there is a little bit of a country feel to this version. In any case, it's a powerful song, a modern-day parallel to the exodus from Egypt, about not fearing our enemies but instead trusting in the Lord to free us from our fears and deliver us.

Hillary Scott is one of the co-lead singers of the group Lady Antebellum. This is a poignant song from her album "Love Remains" that she recorded with her family. It includes her father, her younger sister, and her Grammy-award winning mother Linda Davis.

Hillary initially chose not to reveal the story behind the song, only to say that it was based on a personal heartbreak in her life. But she eventually did make the story public. The song is about her having a miscarriage in Fall 2015 and how she dealt with it. As the song starts out she says "I am confused", and then later on she says "I don't understand." But eventually she realizes that God is in control, God has a plan, God works all things together for good.

(Hmm...yeah, well I made this video before I knew the story behind the song. Some of the background pics don't really fit. Too late to change them now.)

Although this song is about a personal experience, can't we all relate? Things go wrong, and we whine and question. But if we take the approach that Hillary finally arrived at, we have peace.

Well, this is different for me. Not my usual style. Most of my videos use static JPEG slides, and I usually include the lyrics. And the images are usually tied directly to the lyrics. And the songs are usually not gospel music. So I violated a bunch of my style rules here. That's OK, this is an energetic, barn-burner song, and if this doesn't get your toes tapping, well, you need to see a doctor.

I have to admit that I had never heard of Mark Condon until yesterday. I listen to a radio station called KYCC (Your Christian Companion) in Stockton, CA. They play a lot of non-mainstream Christian music. I've been introduced to dozens of artists that I never would have heard if not for them. And they are equally as good as the Chris Tomlins and Natalie Grants of the industry. I'm not kidding. So, if you're sometimes tired of hearing that same Casting Crowns or Third Day song over and over again, check them out. They stream online at kycc.org. No, I do not work for them, I just listen to them.

I *love* discovering fresh new voices! This is 19-year old Hannah Kerr singing her song "Undivided." I think a bright musical future is in store for her. The message of the song reminds me of Romans 12:2 - "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." In other words, we can't "divide" ourselves between God and the world; we need to be fully devoted to Him, which is what the opening lines of the song say.

From her fantastic album "Deeper", this is Meredith Andrews singing "I Look To The King." This is one of those rare albums where I really like every single track. With most albums I really like maybe three or four songs, maybe three or four others are OK, and the rest are throwaways. But every single cut on this album is a winner. Not just because of Meredith's sing, but the production, instrumentation and songwriting is outstanding. This one is a must-have.

Odd that in this song the lyrics quote 1 Timothy 1:17, which calls God "invisible", but what she sings here is "invincible." I searched for the lyrics and every single web site said "invincible." Plus, that's what the liner notes say. So, no, it wasn't a typo on my part, that's what she's singing.

When US Olympic runner Abbey D'Agostino collided with another runner during the 5000m qualifying race something amazing happened. Abbey immediately stopped and helped fellow runner Nikki Hamblin of New Zealand get up to finish the race. What a true display of sportsmanship!

From their self-titled debut album this is a video I made for the song "Make A Way." The song features Abbie Parker on lead vocals. The name of the band is intriguing; the "they" part refers to the twelve disciples. Jesus frequently used the word "they", and when He did, He was talking about the disciples. The Great Commission calls us to also be disciples, thus the name I Am They.

The title song from Among The Thirsty's album. I attend Celebrate Recovery and the message of this song ties in very closely with what Celebrate Recovery espouses. Celebrate Recovery is a very encouraging program that teaches about how to deal with current and past hurts, hangups, and habits, and teaches about God's grace and forgiveness so that we can move on to something better.

Olympic Swimmer Missy Franklin stepped into a church with a group of her friends and immediately felt at home. She found her identity in Christ Jesus. And hearing her story of how faith has fueled her is beyond inspiring. Who else was cheering for our sister in Christ!?!

The newest challenge sweeping the internet is the 22 push-up challenge. And before you pass it off as the newest fad, this one NEEDS to be here to stay. This challenge is helping raise awareness of the high rates of suicide among veterans in this country. And hearing the stories behind the veterans and families spreading a message of hope you'll be moved!
