Justice Delayed, Grace Delivered - a devotional based on Acts 24-26, teaching that God is always in control, even when He seems silent.

A Prayer When You Are Weary and Burdened | Your Daily Prayer

Dear Jesus, I am weary and burdened today. Life feels heavy, and I long for Your peace. Thank You for Your invitation to come and rest in You. I take Your yoke upon me, trusting that You are gentle and humble in heart. Teach me to walk with You, Lord, to release my burdens, and to find rest for my soul in Your love. Help me remember that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. Thank You for Your grace, comfort, and constant presence. In Your wonderful Name, Amen.

Setting Your Heart on God | Your Nightly Prayer

Heavenly Father, We confess that we often make plans on our own and then come to You after the fact, asking for Your blessing. Forgive us for the times we’ve led with self-reliance instead of surrender. Show us the areas of our lives we’ve yet to give fully to You. As we walk into the days and seasons ahead, help us to seek first Your Kingdom and righteousness, trusting that You will establish every step we take. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This Officer’s Reaction to an Unusual Call Will Brighten Your Day

This officer’s reaction to an unusual call will brighten your day. He heard something quite odd come over the radio and went to investigate. Watch the short but hilarious clip to hear the call and how the officer responded once he arrived on the scene.

Law enforcement officers are heroes. They constantly and consistently put their personal safety, and in some cases, even their lives, at risk for others. When everyone else is running away from a disaster or an emergency, those brave men and women sprint in the opposite direction, heading toward that scene.

Members of law enforcement witness some truly disturbing things. They are often some of the first people whenever disaster strikes, whether that be a murder, a fatal vehicle collision or some other awful situation. They see it all, and yet they still are willing to put themselves in harm’s way to protect you and me, and do it without even giving it a second thought. It’s second nature for them to run directly to a scene where it’s likely that what awaits them is going to stay with them for the rest of their lives. How many other people can say that?

Well, a clip posted on YouTube shows an officer not wasting any time when he heard an unusual call come over the radio. No, it was not for a murder or a deadly car crash, but for a bull in a store’s parking lot. Yes, someone had reported the massive animal in a parking lot, and so, the officer was unsure what to expect when he arrived.

However, after getting to the scene and realizing that there was no danger whatsoever, the officer took some time to enjoy the moment. He even climbed on top of the animal and took a picture.

A bull in a parking lot isn’t too bad, considering everything else that an officer could be called to while on duty.

Proverbs 12:10 “An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evildoers are cruel.”

Teacher Moved to Tears by Secret Santa Surprise Amid Husband’s Cancer Battle

A teacher was moved to tears by a surprise from Secret Santa amid her husband's cancer battle. The tears started flowing soon after she received some unexpected visitors to her classroom. Watch the short but tear-jerking and heartwarming clip to see how the selfless teacher, whose husband is fighting cancer, reacted to the gift.

Life is often unfair and can even bring about instances that result in a great deal of pain and heartache. Those deep, dark valleys can be downright excruciating and feel as if they will never cease. Sadly, many times those hardships and trials come about through no fault of our own. Whoever said life is fair was way off the mark and either a liar or completely ignorant of real life.

It's for those reasons, when people are going through difficult situations, that kindness, gentleness and love can make all the difference. Most of the time, we may not even realize someone is going through a struggle, but instead are battling in silence, going about everyday life as if nothing is wrong. They put on a brave front while secretly hurting. We can never truly know what someone else is going through.

A clip posted on YouTube is of a woman navigating an extremely painful, scary, and uncertain situation, yet managing as best she can despite her circumstances. Her husband is battling cancer, but she has continued to be a model employee, juggling many responsibilities and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude for her children's sake.

In the video, the teacher was surprised by the crew entering her classroom during the middle of a lesson. Once she had overcome the initial shock of the team's presence, she had an idea why they had come to visit her. She even informed them that she was likely to start crying, and she was true to her word. While opening the gifts from Secret Santa and seeing what an anonymous donor had given her, tears began to flow.

1 Peter 4:8 "And most of all be warm in your love for one another; because in love there is forgiveness of sins."

Trey Hensley, Rob Ickes, Tammy Rogers - Orphan Train

“Orphan Train” brings together the talents of Trey Hensley (vocals, guitar), Rob Ickes (Hawaiian guitar, vocals), and Tammy Rogers (fiddle, vocals), with Marc Rogers on upright bass. The song and video pay tribute to the Orphan Train Movement, which relocated more than 250,000 orphaned and homeless children from off the streets, primarily New York City, to new homes across America between 1854 and 1929. Brent Maher was inspired to create the project after discovering The National Orphan Train Complex in Concordia, Kansas. Moved by its history, he set out to tell the story through a blend of original music and narrative, following three fictional children from age 11 into their 20s. The result is Night of the Orphan Train – A Musical Novel, a unique fusion of historical storytelling and Americana, Bluegrass, and Classic melodic compositions. This song & video are the first releases from this project. Bio for Rob Ikes and Trey Hensley: Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley perform and wrote many of the Orphan Train tracks. Take Rob Ickes, the most decorated musician in IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Awards history with 15 Dobro Player of the Year wins, and 2023 IBMA Guitar Player of the Year Trey Hensley, a Tennessee-born guitar prodigy identified as “Nashville's hottest young player” by Acoustic Guitar magazine and you have Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, a powerhouse GRAMMY® nominated acoustic duo and won GRAMMY with Taj Mahal. Both are nominated again for 2025 IBMA Awards BIO for TAMMY ROGERS - Masterful fiddle player and songwriter, Tammy Rogers King, is a founding member of the Grammy-winning bluegrass group, The SteelDrivers and the groundbreaking Americana record label, Dead Reckoning Records. She has recorded with many superstars including Eric Church, Neil Diamond, Reba McEntire, and toured with Emmylou Harris, Patty Loveless, Buddy Miller, Trisha Yearwood and more. The Steeldrivers are currently on tour selling out shows around the U.S. BRIEF BIO for BRENT MAHER - With 7 Grammy award-winning records to his credit, Brent Maher has become one of Nashville’s most acclaimed songwriters, engineers, and producers. Maher’s accomplishments include over 20 #1 singles and a wide array of platinum and multi-platinum selling albums. He has worked with such iconic artists as Ike & Tina Turner, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, The Judds, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Lainey Wilson, Taj Mahal, Jelly Roll with a new duet by Sierra Ferrell & Nikki Lane and a song in the 2025 season of The Bear on FX/Hulu. Maher was inducted into the Audio Engineering Society Hall of Fame in 2017 and honored by the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Music Masters series. TREY HENSLEY QUOTE: “Brent Maher approached Rob Ickes and myself to work on a song with him a few years back…the idea was the story of the “Orphan Train.” As Brent was telling us this story, it instantly became clear how important this project was going to be. I will always look back at the writing process for the “Orphan Train” as one of the most exciting creative experiences I’ve ever been a part of. This is an incredibly special piece of work and I’m so honored to have played a small role in getting this beautiful story from the writing room out into the world.” ROB ICKES QUOTE: “I am so excited about this project! Such an amazing experience to work with one of my all-time musical heroes, Brent Maher. Seems like Trey Hensley and I just clicked with Brent from the very first time we all hung out, and after doing our first album together, it was a great experience to co-write many of these Orphan Train songs with Brent. Co-writing a song involves a lot of time spent together-discussing things, telling stories, and getting into each other's minds, so to speak. I could tell Brent was quite inspired when he saw the billboard for the Orphan Train Museum on a drive back from Colorado to Tennessee, and how it stirred up memories from his own childhood, and the whole story just fell into place quite quickly. I was thrilled to be a part of it, such a great experience to work with a master such as Brent! Of course, Trey's voice fits the part perfectly, and I was pleased to add on some harmony vocals. I also played my Grandpa's Hawaiian guitar (which he bought from the Montgomery Ward Catalog in 1927!) and it seemed to fit the aesthetic of many of these songs perfectly. What an amazing project to be a part of! So thrilled that all the creative energy is coming together into this great package, congrats Brent!!” The full audiobook of Night of the Orphan Train - A Musical Novel will be available on October 17, 2025, and the original soundtrack will follow on November 7, 2025. Dionya Marie - Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe

Dionya (pronounced Dee-on-ya) Marie is a singer/songwriter who has found a broad audience the last few years with songs charting on Country, POP, and Adult Contemporary charts. Her current re-release of her holiday track “Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe” is back for another climb on the holiday music charts. Last year the song peaked at #4 on the HOT A/C Recurrents chart, lifting Dionya to #2 among independent artists on that chart. The track is available on all major streaming platforms under her label Billeegee Productions. It combines a timeless melody with a familiar theme of how much we miss our distant loved ones at Christmas, but with a special twist. The song is accompanied by an award-winning official music video on YouTube. Dionya’s vocals are reminiscent of Karen Carpenter, “Several years ago I did a tribute show as Karen Carpenter in Las Vegas. I studied Karen’s unique vocal stylings, so especially when I sing holiday songs, it naturally comes out.”, said Dionya. “Missing You Underneath the Mistletoe” was produced by Grammy nominated producer/mixer Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, Dolly Parton, Chris Isaak), and recorded in the studios of Kent Wells Productions in Nashville under the direction of Grammy nominated producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton), who also makes a cameo vocal appearance in the song. Peace for What Lies Ahead | Your Nightly Prayer

If you could know the future, would you want to? As our nightly prayer and devotional remind us, for most of us, the answer might be yes — because we long to feel prepared, safe, and in control. Yet, as Amber Ginter reminds us, peace doesn’t come from knowing what’s ahead — it comes from trusting the One who does. Amber recalls a moment in a Hobby Lobby when she came across a sign that read, “Thank you, Lord, for all the things that didn’t go the way I planned.” The message stopped her in her tracks — a humbling reminder that God’s plans often look different from our own, yet they are always better. Isaiah 55:8–9 tells us, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” God’s higher wisdom means we can release our grip on control and rest in His sovereign care. Like a loving Father, He withholds what might harm us and leads us toward what will bless us — even when we can’t see the full picture. We don’t need to predict the future to have peace about it. Proverbs 3:5–6 invites us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding. When we acknowledge Him in every decision, He makes our paths straight. Friend, whatever lies ahead, you can trust an unknown future to a known God. His plans are steady. His love is constant. And His peace — the kind that surpasses understanding — is available to you right now, in this moment, no matter what tomorrow holds. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE “You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.” — Psalm 65:11 (NIV) MAIN TAKEAWAYS True peace comes from trusting God, not from knowing the future. God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours — His plans are always for our good. Releasing control allows us to experience the peace that comes from His sovereignty. Trust in God brings clarity and direction even when circumstances feel uncertain. You can confidently place your future in the hands of a God who never fails. SCRIPTURE REFERENCES Psalm 65:11 Isaiah 55:8–9 Proverbs 3:5–6 Philippians 4:7 YOUR EVENING PRAYER Dear God, So often, we long to know what’s coming next because uncertainty makes us anxious. But peace doesn’t come from control — it comes from trusting You. Help us to surrender our fears about the future and rest in Your perfect wisdom. When our plans fall apart, remind us that Your ways are better. Thank You for being our peace, our protector, and our provider in every season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer When It Feels Like No One Cares | Your Daily Prayer

Loneliness can sting deeply — especially when it comes from people we expected to care. In our daily prayer and devotional, we think about how, sometimes, friends don’t check in, family seems distant, or those you serve overlook your heart entirely. It’s easy to wonder: Is it me? Am I expecting too much? Do they even care at all? In this vulnerable reflection, Kelly Balarie reminds us that Jesus Himself knew what it was like to feel unseen and misunderstood. Even His own brothers didn’t believe in Him (John 7:5). Yet, Jesus never wavered in His confidence of the Father’s love. He trusted that even when people misunderstood or dismissed Him, God still cared deeply and had a perfect plan. When others seem indifferent, it doesn’t mean we’re unloved or forgotten. God’s care is steadfast — not dependent on human approval or attention. He sees the pain that others overlook and tenderly calls us to fix our eyes on Him. Let’s also use these moments to examine our hearts. Are we seeking people’s validation more than God’s affirmation? When our worth is rooted in His care, the emptiness caused by others’ neglect begins to fade. The same God who cared for Jesus cares for you — fully, faithfully, and forever. Today's Bible Reading: “For even his own brothers did not believe in him.” – John 7:5, NIV 💡 Takeaway Truths Feeling unseen by people doesn’t mean you’re forgotten by God. Jesus understands what it’s like to feel misunderstood — He’s been there too. God’s care for you is perfect, personal, and unwavering. 🙏 Let’s Pray Father, Thank You that You care for me, even when it feels like no one else does. You see my heart and know my struggles. Help me not to seek validation from others, but to rest securely in Your love. Forgive me for the times I’ve let pride or insecurity cloud my view of You. Give me eyes to see Your goodness and grace at work in my life. Strengthen me to walk in humility, peace, and trust, knowing that You have a good plan for me. When I feel overlooked, remind me that You never miss a moment of my life. You are with me, for me, and working through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 📖 Related Scriptures Psalm 27:10 — “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” Isaiah 49:16 — “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.” 1 Peter 5:7 — “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

This Moving Short Film About Love and Loss at Christmas Will Leave You in Tears

This moving short film about love and loss at Christmas will leave you in tears. Make sure you have a box of tissues nearby, as you’ll need them while watching this powerful and beautiful clip. Watch this short, heartbreaking and sweet video about a part of the Christmas season we don’t like to think about, but is, sadly, all too real.

Christmas is, without a doubt, the most wonderful time of the year. Many songs and television specials have made this statement over the years, which has since been confirmed by the wonderful gatherings, time spent with family and friends and the delicious, mouth-watering treats and dishes. It’s hard to compete with the Christmas season. As great as they may be, there’s no way Valentine’s Day, Arbor Day or Thanksgiving can ever top Christmas.

But as wonderful as the Christmas season is, it can also be an incredibly painful time. Some may even decide to ignore the holiday season altogether. That’s because Christmas can remind us of those we’ve lost and who are no longer here to celebrate with us and help carry out those cherished, annual traditions.

A beautiful, incredibly powerful clip posted on YouTube reminds us that some have suffered loss and do hurt, especially around the Christmas season. That’s why it’s a good idea to reach out to and check on people around the Christmas season, let them know you love and care for them.

In the video, a young woman, within the last year, has suffered the loss of her husband or fiancé. With it being Christmastime, she is having a tough time. She remembers last Christmas as she sits on the couch, wiping away tears.

However, her loving and loyal pup understands she is hurting immensely. The dog wants nothing more than to see her happy, to cheer her up. So, the pup sets out on a tear-jerking, heartwarming mission to give her a little happiness amidst her grief.

This clip is enough to make even the most stoic, unemotional person shed a tear or two.

Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

This Charming Christmas Ad Starring Keira Knightley Is Too Cute to Miss

This charming Christmas ad starring Keira Knightley is too cute to miss. This is easily one of the best, most adorable ads you will have ever seen. Watch the short but incredibly sweet clip to see a man who has recently suffered loss find love once again at Christmastime.

Most people wholeheartedly agree that the Christmas season is the best time of the entire year. That is one of the very few things today that is likely to garner an overwhelming majority of people's agreement. Have you ever heard someone say Valentine's Day or St. Patrick's Day is their favorite time of the year? Sure, some may enjoy Thanksgiving or even Halloween, but we all know which holiday is likely to come out on top every time.

However, that doesn't mean that the Christmas season is always easy, or even enjoyable. In fact, it can be very difficult and painful, especially for those who have recently suffered loss. Christmas has a way of reminding people of what they've lost and who is no longer around. However, Christmas is also a season that gives people hope and the feeling that anything is possible.

In a short clip posted on YouTube, one man, Phil, recently suffered a loss, explaining to his friends that the only person his late wife said he could move on with was Keira Knightley. Yes, that Keira Knightley – one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

The odds of him running into her are slim to none, right? Well, maybe not.

Later in the clip, he's in the supermarket when he encounters the one and only Keira Knightley. It's basically love at first sight for both of them.

Soon enough, the two become friends, but it's clear that there is something more between them. But Phil spots something that gives him pause. Perhaps she isn't feeling the same way after all.

Eventually, like all romantic comedies, Phil puts it all on the line, and all he can do is wait for her response. Did he ruin their friendship by letting her know how he really feels about her?

Powerful Christmas Ad Reminds Those in Need Are All Around Us

A powerful Christmas ad reminds us that those in need are all around. You likely find yourself wiping away tears from your eyes after seeing this advertisement. Watch this short yet moving clip, which is sure to tug at your heartstrings and prompt you to reconsider some things.

Christmas truly is a wonderful time of year – filled with family, friends and delicious, mouth-watering dishes and sweet treats. It’s also the time when people often go way overboard with loud, flashy and expensive gifts, rushing out to buy this or that for someone on their list. The truth is, most of us are incredibly blessed and have very little need for anything. The things we receive at Christmastime are usually just icing on the cake, and nothing we actually need.

However, every Christmas season, we are still inundated with ads trying to convince us that we must have this product or this item. If we only had this thing, then our Christmas would be complete, seems to be the message that most of those ads are pushing. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.

But there are people all around us who are hurting and in need, and who those people are may surprise you. A powerful clip posted on YouTube makes this point clear, and as the ad mentions, those in need are much closer than you might have initially thought.

The clip begins with a teacher asking her students about the true spirit and meaning of Christmas. The students momentarily break off into small groups to discuss this and eventually come back as a whole to give their teacher their answers. Some of the answers provided are way off the mark, while others are much closer.

Later in the clip, the students are reminded about bringing in items to help those in need. The students are then seen wrapping the items donated, which are then loaded into the back of a vehicle.

However, before the clip ends, viewers get to see the donated items being handed out to those in need, which includes one of the little girls from the classroom.

What a powerful ad that reminds us that need is literally all around us. Even people we know may be struggling and hurting.

Proverbs 19:17 “He who has pity on the poor gives to the Lord, and the Lord will give him his reward.”

Thanksgiving in Times of Waiting | Your Nightly Prayer

Father, As I wait, remind me that Your delays do not mean You have forgotten me. Help me to trust that Your timing is perfect and Your plans are good. When I grow weary, renew my strength with thanksgiving — for the ways You’ve already come through and the ways You are working right now. Let gratitude anchor my heart and keep me faithful in prayer until Your promises are fulfilled. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for Christian Community | Your Daily Prayer

God never intended for us to do life alone. As our daily prayer and reflection remind us, from the beginning of creation, He designed us for community — with Him and with one another. Yet, for many believers, being part of a church family isn’t always easy. Differences in opinion, leadership conflicts, or even personal wounds can cause deep pain within the very place meant to nurture our faith. In this compassionate reflection, Laura Bailey reminds us that while church hurt is real and painful, Christian community is still God’s plan for His people. Just as Adam was not meant to be alone, neither are we. Throughout Scripture, we see how God uses relationships — even messy ones — to shape us, refine us, and reveal His grace. From the early church in Acts to the disciples who followed Jesus, believers have always grown stronger in community. Though it can be hard to stay when relationships feel strained, the call of Christ is not to walk away but to lean in — to forgive, to reconcile, and to remain united under His love. Today's Bible Reading: “The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’” – Genesis 2:18, NIV 💡 Takeaway Truths God created us for community — with Him and with one another. Church relationships may be imperfect, but they’re essential for spiritual growth. Staying rooted in Christian community helps us live out love, forgiveness, and unity. 🙏 Let’s Pray Heavenly Father, Thank You for creating us to live in community. When we’re hurt by others in the church, give us the strength to forgive and the courage to stay connected. Heal the wounds caused by division and restore unity among Your people. Help us to love one another as You have loved us. When we feel tempted to withdraw, remind us that Your design for the body of Christ is togetherness, not isolation. Let the fruits of the Spirit — love, patience, gentleness, and self-control — shine through our relationships. We pray for reconciliation, grace, and renewed hope within Your Church. Thank You for being the foundation that holds us all together. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 📖 Related Scriptures John 17:21 — “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” Romans 12:18 — “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Acts 2:42–47 — “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship…”
