‘Heart of Invictus’ Series Follows Service Members With Life-Changing Injuries As They Compete

A new documentary series on Netflix, “Heart of Invictus,” focuses on the journey of service members who have experienced devastating, life-changing injuries as they compete against one another in the Invictus Games.

In the United States and in countries around the world, men and women serve their country’s armed forces with distinction and honor. However, often those many conflicts leave men and women with serious and life-altering injuries. Not only physical injuries, but those service members can sustain serious psychological and emotional scars.

A trailer posted on YouTube gives viewers a look at several badly injured service members in the Netflix series “Heart of Invictus.”

According to the video’s description, the series will “follow a group of competitors” who are “from around the globe” and “service members who have experienced life-changing injuries or illnesses” as they make their way to the Invictus Games.

Prince Harry, also a series executive producer, appears throughout the trailer. He explains that the Invictus Games is about much more than competition and winning races or games.

“The games doesn’t focus on what causes the injury, but really about the recovery and how to be a part of a community again,” Prince Harry says.

Also, throughout the trailer, several of the competitors mention the pain and anguish they experienced following their injuries received during combat.

“When I was a soldier, that meant the world to me,” one man says. “Once I was wounded, how do you define yourself then?”

The clip ends with Prince Harry on stage telling those competing in the games that they have already achieved their goals, despite what they may think or believe.

“You are people of substance, of resilience, of strength,” Prince Harry says. “You have the heart of Invictus.”

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not given you your orders? Take heart and be strong; have no fear and do not be troubled; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

‘The Blind’ True Story Of The Robertson Family Official Movie Trailer

The official trailer gives a look at the new, upcoming film “The Blind,” which is a movie about Phil Robertson’s early life, his marriage, his troubles with alcohol and ultimately, his turning to the Lord.

Everyone has a past, often littered with hurtful words, actions and other things we wish we could easily forget. As most people know, it’s not usually that simple. Relationships can be strained and broken, with no chance of repair due to things said or done in the past. However, thankfully there is One who forgives, extending grace and mercy to sinners.

“The Blind,” set to hit theaters on September 28, is about beloved “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson. The film, though, goes beyond the popular A&E reality TV series. It is about Phil’s life before the show and fame and fortune.

The film’s official trailer begins with Phil, a young man in a football uniform, approaching his eventual wife, “Miss Kay Carroway.” In a quick sequence of images, the trailer shows the two going out on a date, falling in love and with Phil placing a ring on Kay’s finger. But things quickly take a dark turn.

Phil is shown with a can in his hand, tumbling to the ground in a drunken state. Kay laments to a man in uniform about how bad things have gotten in her marriage.

“He becomes the devil, Si,” she says.

Things only get worse from that point and continue along a downward spiral. Phil, while screaming, slams, smashes and breaks items in his house. Eventually, as the trailer shows Phil’s life going from bad to worse, he orders his wife to “get out.”

But thankfully, that’s not where the story or the film’s official trailer ends.

The film’s official website describes “The Blind” as a movie that “shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place.”

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith, which is in the Son of God, who love me, and gave himself up for me.”

‘Pardoned By Grace’ Inspirational Film On Faith And Forgiveness

The new film “Pardoned by Grace” is based on the true story of one man, a former convict, who turned his life over to Christ and became a pastor.

Everyone has a past, likely sprinkled with things they’d like to be able to forget. For some, more than others, the past can truly haunt them, especially if their past actions land them in prison.

That was certainly the case with Scott Highberger, the central figure in the film “Pardoned by Grace.” The trailer for the new film, recently posted on YouTube, shows Scott landing in prison for several offenses. But as he’s doing his time, paying back his debt to society, something happens and changes inside of the convicted criminal.

The film opens with Scott, played by Joey Lawrence, wearing an orange jumpsuit, sitting in a jail cell looking down at a Bible as another man points to portions of Scripture.

Scott, during a voiceover in the film’s trailer, admits that he was the worst of the worst.

“I used to be an alcoholic, addict, felon,” Scott says.

But another man, who appears to be a friend or possibly a mentor to Scott, brushes aside Scott’s troubled past.

“I know, so what?” the man responds.

Several scenes in the film display Scott's frequent run-ins with law enforcement. But as he’s sitting in prison, he receives some terrific words of wisdom.

“So you choose to exercise sin,” one person in the film states. “It gets bigger and bigger until it consumes you. So, you exercise your faith, guess what? It gets stronger.”

By the end of the trailer, Scott is standing before his fellow prisoners preaching the Word of God.

The faith-based film about how God used a former convict to start a ministry aimed at those behind bars is currently streaming on PureFlix.

Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.”

‘Divine Influencer’ Entitled Social Media Star Learns True Joy In Pure Flix Film

One woman, who has amassed quite the following on social media, learns about joy and what it means to actually be an influencer and a leader in the latest film from Pure Flix.

Social media is not going anywhere. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and sites like them are here to stay. Those popular websites and apps do have an impact on society today.

Some have even turned posting photos, memes and statuses on those sites into full-time jobs. Given their large follower and friend count, those people are often called “influencers.”

In “Divine Influencer,” a new upcoming film from Pure Flix, one young woman who considers herself an “influencer” learns the hard way that Twitter, Instagram and TikTok aren’t real life. As the first look at the film, posted on YouTube shows, the film’s main character, Olivia, has to find a real job. Her parents are no longer going to support her financially.

She will now have to try to find and influence a boss to give her a job and a paycheck. Lara Silva, who plays Olivia, says her character has been given an opportunity to learn and grow beyond her phone or computer screen.

“When she loses everything, she quickly realizes what is actually important in life,” Lara says.

Social media, while it can be fun and exciting, often distracts and pits people against one another, battling over likes, retweets and followers.

Lara later sums up the film's message in the short clip.

“The message is to bring people to know Jesus and know that they are enough without feeling they need to be influenced by someone else,” Lara said.

According to the video’s description, “Divine Influencer,” a Pure Flix original film, is scheduled to debut sometime in August 2023.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

'God's Country Song' Singing Cowboy Discovers The Father's Love in New Movie

Saddle up and get ready for the next adventurous God-honoring film, ‘God’s Country Song’ when a singing cowboy discovers the Father’s love in this new movie. ‘God’s Country Song’ is coming to Pure Flix and it’s a storyline we can all relate to.

A young man by the name of Noah Bryan (Juston Gaston) has dreams of being a famous country singer when his hopes are dashed by his own poor choices. Not only does he fall from stardom because of fighting and drinking, he thinks his life is over when he discovers he is a father to six-year-old JJ whose mother passed away.

With his dreams seemingly as broken as the relationship he has with his own father, Noah discovers grace and what it means to be loved by his earthly father and heavenly father. Juston spoke about what his character Noah was going through. He said, “It’s easy to get caught up in earthly, worldly things. [Noah is] so caught up in, quote-unquote, ‘make it’ that he’s forgotten where he came from and his moral compass a bit. Which is very easy to do, I feel, when you’re not grounded in [a] community,” He added, “He’s having trouble getting right with God because he and his father are having an issue. That’s hindering his openness to God.”

The film is set to be released on Pure Flix on June 16th. It has all the lessons of faith, family, and love. It’s a film that reminds us we cannot outrun the grace and love of our heavenly father. Watch the trailer below and share it with your friends.

‘The Hill’ Dennis Quaid Stars In True Story of Inspiring Baseball Star

Dennis Quaid stars in the inspiring and moving film “The Hill,” about one man’s improbable journey to professional baseball.

Many children grow up envisioning hitting the last-second shot to win the big game or slamming a home run in the bottom of the ninth. Being a professional athlete, competing against the best of the best is something most of the population would love to do. However, only a privileged few ever reach that level of competition.

“The Hill,” a new film is about one man, Rickey Hill, who despite his obvious physical challenges, persisted and persevered to achieve his dream of playing Major League Baseball.

From a very early age, it was clear that Rickey had a very apparent love and talent for baseball. However, in the opening seconds of the trailer for the new and upcoming film, Rickey has a pronounced disability, which will make playing the game challenging. He has braces on both legs. But that doesn’t stop him from hitting the baseball miles.

In the film, Dennis plays Rickey’s father, James Hill, who tries to save his son from hurt and embarrassment. James tries to talk sense into his young and overly ambitious son.

“You can’t play baseball,” James tells Rickey. “You’re going to get ridiculed and you’re going to wind up with an injury that you’ll never get over. God’s going to give you a higher calling.”

Despite all the negativity and the naysayers, Rickey continues playing the game he loves, excelling in ways no one thought possible. However, Rickey’s condition remains at the forefront of his and his family’s mind. Rickey learns that the bones in his legs are “rapidly depleting.”

A scene near the end of the trailer shows Rickey sitting in a church pew, with tears in his eyes, asking the Lord for protection and guidance.

“I cannot do this alone,” Rickey says.

The film is written by the same person who penned “Hoosiers” and “Rudy.” “The Hill” is rated PG for “thematic content, language, and smoking throughout.”

James 1:12 “There is a blessing on the man who undergoes testing; because, if he has God’s approval, he will be given the crown of life, which the Lord has said he will give to those who have love for him.”

‘The Blind’ Based On True Story Of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Finding God

An upcoming film shines a light on the early life, the downfall and ultimately, the redemption of a beloved television star.

“Duck Dynasty” was a popular reality television program that aired on A&E for several years. The show followed the antics of Phil, Willie, Si, Jase and Jep Robertson and their wildly successful duck-hunting business. Viewers instantly fell in love with the Robertson family. The gang from Louisiana, with trademark scraggly beards, has a decidedly unconventional way of doing nearly everything.

A trailer for a new, upcoming film posted on YouTube takes a closer look at the early life and struggle of one of those beloved members of the Robertson clan: Phil Robertson. The trailer for “The Blind” begins with Phil and Kay exchanging vows near a swamp.

The video then quickly cuts to Phil being told that “he can do just about anything you put your mind to, Phil Robertson.” A few moments later, we see what else, but several men in the great outdoors, wearing camo and using duck calls. But things are not as good as they might appear at first glance.

Viewers learn that Phil has developed a drinking problem. He’s seen falling to the ground with a can in his hand. In the next scene, a woman states that because of his issue with alcohol, “he becomes the devil, Si.” Phil’s drinking threatens to destroy his family, with him ordering his wife to “get out.”

The trailer shows Phil, whose life spirals out of control, being told that “you got to die and then you got to be born again.”

“The Blind,” according to the video’s description, looks at “Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place.”

The film opens in theaters on September 28.

Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

'Journey To Bethlehem' Live-Action Christmas Musical Event With Antonio Banderas

You’ll be ready for the holidays right now after checking out this trailer for Journey To Bethlehem, a live-action musical with Antonio Banderas! Oh my goodness, it looks amazing!

The story of the birth of Jesus has been told in many ways—though not nearly as often as it should be. The most incredible and meaningful birth in history has been shared through films for adults and kids. Children’s films like The Little Drummer Boy (1968) and at least one Veggie Tales video have depicted the journey that Mary and Joseph took before Jesus was born. New Line Cinema released The Nativity Story in 2006.

A few churches, with volunteers playing all of the parts, create the story each season. The re-enactments allow guests to get just a glimpse of what Mary and Joseph felt as they traveled and hoped to find a safe place to stay. Sight & Sound Theatres produce and share the story at their Pennsylvania and Missouri locations. But Affirm Films brings something completely new,  and we can all experience it!

The trailer is 80 seconds long, but you won’t need that much time to be sold on seeing the film when it comes out in November! We see depictions of majesty and faraway places. There are colorful costumes, both royal and lowly. Expressions of worry and fear flash across the screen. It’s a cornucopia of faces and feelings, with musical numbers that complement each!

All of those feelings and places are real; they were experienced by real people. And it’s not just the heavier elements that the trailer promises. Joy is abundant in the trailer! Delight smiles, and humor are present, as they absolutely should be!

Of course, there is a gifted cast and… Antonio Banderas! One commenter wrote, “I did not know I needed a nativity story musical until I saw this trailer.” Amen, sister!

Journey To Bethlehem looks like a film to add to your list of Christmas viewing and must-sees!

“Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:11
