Coffee Break: Prayer Jealousy, Gratitude & The Red Light Phenomenon

Don't forget to grab your free scripture journal at https://prayingchristianwomen.com/journal today!

Why does God seem to answer other people’s prayers, but not yours?

In this Coffee Break episode, Jaime and Alana tackle a deeply personal question that can leave us feeling overlooked, discouraged, and afraid to ask what’s really on our hearts: Does God love me less?

When someone else celebrates a miraculous healing or shares another incredible answer to prayer, it can be difficult to rejoice while you’re still waiting—or grieving an outcome you never wanted. The co-hosts explore how hearing only the highlights of other people’s prayer lives can shape our perception of God’s work, and how comparison can cause us to overlook the ways He is already providing for us.

Through personal stories of answered prayer and painful loss, Jaime and Alana discuss the temptation to blame God, ourselves, or others when our prayers have different outcomes. Jaime shares how keeping a prayer journal helped her recognize God’s work in her life, while Alana offers a simple practice for building gratitude into everyday moments. They also explore how to share testimonies with compassion, celebrating what God has done without suggesting that a particular outcome is guaranteed if we just pray hard enough.

Together, they encourage us to bring our jealousy, disappointment, and unanswered questions honestly to God, while making room for both gratitude and grief. Whether you’re struggling to celebrate someone else’s blessing, wondering why your own prayers seem unanswered, or looking for a more sensitive way to share your story, we hope this episode brings you comfort, fresh perspective, and reassurance that a different answer to prayer does not mean you are less loved.

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Whitney Hopler examines Deuteronomy 18:10–12 and the biblical warning against seeking spiritual guidance through divination and other forbidden practices.

This devotional invites us to examine where we're placing our trust, seek forgiveness where needed, and grow in spiritual discernment.

A Prayer for Spiritual Revival and a Renewed Heart

Does your heart need spiritual renewal?

If you've been feeling distant from God, discouraged in your faith, or distracted by the demands of life, today's prayer is an invitation to seek Him again.

In this episode of Your Daily Prayer, Christine F. Perry reflects on Proverbs 11:25 and how humility, surrender, and serving others can help us grow closer to Christ.

Jesus showed us what it means to live with a servant's heart. Through His example, we learn that spiritual revival isn't about making ourselves the center of our faith. It's about allowing God to take His rightful place in our lives.

Join us in asking the Lord to renew our hearts, restore our joy, and help us reflect His love through our words and actions.

Police Officer Steps In To Help 15-Year-Old Complete Marathon

Prepare to be inspired by kindness and support. Watch as a police officer steps in to help a 15-year-old complete a marathon.

The news report shares how a 15-year-old decided to run an LA marathon alongside 20,000 people. Suddenly, a police officer is shown stepping in to help the boy complete the race. Sergeant Jay from the LAPD was helping with the race and noticed the boy fell down around mile 26. They checked on him, and he was going to be alright. The boy shared that he wanted to finish the race, so the officer and his sister are shown in a clip holding him up, walking arm in arm to assist him in completing the marathon.

Teen Runner's Determination Inspires an Officer and His Community

The policeman shares in the interview how proud he is of the young man and what he would say to him if he could see him. Sergeant Jay is so inspired that he says he might even run the marathon the next year because of the impact this boy had upon him.

The boy’s name is revealed as Leobardo. His mother says that they are very proud of him and how grateful they are to those who helped him. It is not easy to complete a marathon at any age, but it is very rare for a 15-year-old to finish this difficult race. Seeing this boy’s determination and stamina reminds us of the abilities and strength that God gives to us and how we can accomplish amazing things with the help of God. Watching this video can remind us of running the race of faith in life alongside other believers who help us along the way. There is such a blessing in Christian community.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Hebrews 12:1

Robert Irwin Enjoys Delicious Meal Of Salad And Doughnuts

In an airport lounge somewhere, celebrity wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin enjoyed a delicious meal of salad and doughnuts. Does one cancel out the other? Watch the video to find out.

“Mmm,” Irwin said, scarfing down some salad. “Very important to remember the body is a temple. The body is a temple, so you have to make sure you’re keeping a really good balance.”

He then reached into a Krispy Kreme sack and pulled out a lovely-looking chocolate creme-filled doughnut.

“That,” he said, pointing to the salad, “cancels out that,” he said, pointing to the donut, before erupting in laughter.

It’s a funny joke because it is so obviously untrue. Robert’s funny demonstration is a nice reminder not to take life too seriously. And even if you’re a health nut, having a doughnut every now and then won’t kill you. Sometimes, you can have a nutritious, healthy meal and something sweet after.

Robert Irwin's Playful Personality Keeps His Father's Legacy Alive

It’s nice to see celebrities like Robert let loose and be silly like this. The wildlife conservationist has grown up under the public eye as he follows in the footsteps of his father, Steve Irwin, the beloved Crocodile Hunter who died from a freak stingray accident when Robert was a toddler.

Robert is so much like his father. Not only does he look like him, but Robert has a natural ability to entertain audiences and make people smile with his goofiness and love for animals. Robert is so often joyful in his videos, whether he’s holding an animal or making jokes like this.

Besides being the Crocodile Hunter’s only son, Robert is also known for his work at Australia Zoo, where he continues his family’s legacy. He shares educational videos and shows people how to have respect for animals, too.

While salad and doughnuts might not actually cancel each other out, Robert's creative combination certainly delivers a healthy serving of laughter!

How do you keep trusting God when life doesn't turn out the way you prayed or hoped?

Disappointment can leave you grieving unanswered prayers, broken relationships, missed opportunities, and dreams that never came to pass. And sometimes the deepest pain comes not from what happened, but from what didn't happen.

In episode 387 of Your Hope-Filled Perspective, Dr. Michelle Bengtson and Rev. Jessica Van Roekel discuss how disappointment affects your mental health, why unmet expectations can lead to anxiety, discouragement, and emotional exhaustion, and how to move forward without becoming stuck in bitterness or hopelessness.

You'll find biblical encouragement for processing disappointment, bringing your honest questions to God, and learning to trust Him even when your circumstances don't make sense.

What disappointment are you learning to surrender to God?

A Prayer to Find Purpose When Life Feels Meaningless

Do you ever wonder whether the things you do each day really matter?

When life becomes repetitive, painful, or different from what we imagined, it's easy to question our purpose. We may feel overlooked, discouraged, or unsure whether we're making a difference.

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Sophia Bricker reflects on the book of Ecclesiastes and the search for meaning in a world where success, possessions, and accomplishments cannot provide lasting fulfillment.

Ecclesiastes 12:13–14 points us toward a deeper purpose: knowing God, honoring Him, and living faithfully before Him.

Our lives don't have to be extraordinary in the eyes of the world to matter to God. Even the small, ordinary things we do in faith can have significance.

Join us in praying for renewed purpose, a deeper relationship with the Lord, and the wisdom to recognize opportunities to glorify Him in everyday life.

A Prayer for When You Keep Making the Same Mistakes

Do you ever feel frustrated because you keep making the same mistakes, even when you're trying to follow God?

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Laura Bailey shares her personal struggle with controlling her words and the discouragement she experienced after losing her temper.

Despite praying for greater self-control, she found herself saying things she regretted. But an encouraging conversation with a friend reminded her of an important truth: God's grace is not something we earn by getting everything right.

Reflecting on Romans 7:15, Laura explores the ongoing struggle with sin, the importance of confession and repentance, and the hope we have through Jesus Christ.

We may not live perfectly, but through the Holy Spirit, we can continue growing in faith, humility, and self-control.

Join us in praying for the strength to acknowledge our mistakes, seek forgiveness, and trust God's grace as He continues working in our lives.

Living By Faith

The Lord has called us to have faith in Him and to live by this faith. Be blessed and encouraged with this song.

Little Girl Assists Dad Photographing Wedding And Brings Him To Tears

A little girl assists her dad in photographing a wedding and brings him to tears. It is so sweet to see how proud he is of her daughter. Watch the video to see his daughter excitedly do her first photography job.

The well-known wedding photographer, Jerome Cole, shared photos and clips on his Instagram of his young daughter, Aisha, taking photos and arranging things the way she wanted them for the photos. He also shared the photos she took, which look absolutely amazing and highly professional.

It’s so cool to see a young kid like this take the job so seriously. The way she holds the camera, the buttons she pushes… She knows what she is doing.

“Should I retire? Aisha, almost 10, has been eager to join me in shooting a wedding for ages, she asks me every week!” Jerome said. “Sunday, with Jelena & Dragan’s big day, we took the leap. Our secret hand signals and her professionalism were something else. Seeing her photos, I couldn’t help but tear up. Proud dad moment.”

Proud Dad Watches His Daughter Follow in His Footsteps

It’s so cute to see Aisha following in her father’s footsteps, and it is so sweet to learn that it brought her father to tears.

“So this is how kids see us. I love it," someone commented on the post. Another said, “Oh, she sees such beauty in the world!! She will let you retire so proud and happy for sure!”

What makes this so special is that Aisha isn't just playing around with a camera. She is using skills she learned from her dad and getting to experience the same passion he feels for photography. It must have been an incredibly rewarding experience for Jerome to watch his daughter confidently do her first photography gig. This is likely the beginning of a beautiful photography career for Aisha.

Firefighters Rescue Two Women and Four Dogs

A brave group of firefighters rescue two women and four dogs in Southern California, and it’s so heroic. They had an encampment next to a river, and the water levels rose fast, leaving them stranded. Watch the video to learn how they were rescued!

After learning that the group was stranded and unable to escape, the local San Bernardino County Fire Department and the SwiftWater Rescue Team came to the rescue with inflatable boats. They carefully navigated the waters to reach the women and their crew of small dogs.

Firefighters Brave Dangerous Floodwaters to Bring Everyone to Safety

After putting life jackets on the women and keeping the dogs protected and in place with a mesh bag, the team navigated the turbulent waters and brought them to safe ground.

“The small dogs were a bit too excited for the adventure, so they were secured in a mesh bag for their trip to the shore,” the fire department explained.

Thankfully, no one, including the dogs had any injuries. When water moves fast like this, it’s a big deal. It’s difficult to swim, and even if you have a boat, it’s hard to fight against the water to get where you want to go.

Earlier that day on Oct. 11, the fire department also rescued two other people who were trapped in the rising water. They were in a tunnel that water flows through, and a ladder truck was used to get them out.

"While setting up for the rescue, a helicopter extraction was considered, but quickly ruled out due to power lines crossing the channel at narrow intervals,” the fire department said.

It is wonderful that all of these people and those dogs were saved. The storm that came through the area, Storm Rachel, elevated the risk in the area exponentially. Thanks to the fire department, these individuals are now safe from danger.

Strangers Save a Couple's Wedding Day

Two strangers saved a couple's wedding day after they left to take photos in Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains before the ceremony started. The way they got to their wedding is so sweet. Watch the video to find out what happened.

They had just finished taking pre-wedding photos in the place where the groom, Eric, proposed to his bride, Kyla. But then a fatal crash happened on the one and only highway to get back to the wedding venue. It was completely blocked, and the estimated wait time was four hours.

When Eric told a man, Garrett Kerr, that his wedding was only 1 hour away, Garrett, who was coming back from an Elk hunting trip, knew he had to help them. He abandoned the Elk in the back of his truck, got his small electric motorcycle, and found another woman, Jessica, who had an ATV.

The motorcycle wasn’t meant to hold two people, but they made it work. The woman with the ATV also had another passenger, and it was only meant to hold two people. However, Kyla squeezed in with her wedding dress, which, thankfully, was not very bulky.

Garrett told Eric, “You’re going to hold and hug me like that scene in ‘Dumb and Dumber’ with Harry and Lloyd driving down the highway.”

Strangers Turn a Wedding Day Disaster Into an Unforgettable Rescue

Then, they made it to the wedding with their extra guests. The guests knew something must have happened when they saw their muffled appearance and windblown hair.

Garrett teared up, remembering how special it was that he got to be a part of making their wedding happen.

“They’ll take those bumps in the road, and they’ll put a smile on their face, and they’ll get through it together. I’m just really happy that I got to experience that,” Garrett said.

After the ceremony, the couple posed with Garret and the bike for pictures. They will be such special reminders of a beautiful memory.
