He now treks three and a half hours per day through hills and brush to attend class. As the oldest student in the school, his classmates affectionately call him Bajee, or 'grandpa' in Nepali. His wish is "with the wisdom of age, I want to show the light of knowledge to everyone."

Jim was sitting at a dinner when he noticed a 9-year-old boy named HK sitting alone at a table. The little boy was blind and suffering from Cerebral Palsy. The two struck up a conversation and Jim learned that HK was being raised by his Grandma, who woked at the diner. Jim became a kind of father figure to HK and the two have been inseparable ever since. It's now 17 years later and you've got to see these two together. Their friendship is so uplifting. <3
