Tom Jones sings a rocking live cover of ‘Johnny B Goode’ in this video of a performance earlier this year!

Most folks of a particular age think first of his good looks and charisma when they hear the name  Tom Jones. With charm, a great smile, and impressive dance moves, he was especially popular among women. However, if you remember the famous performer, you may not also know that he was born in Pontypridd, South Wales, Great Britain, on June 7, 1940. His parents, Freda (Jones) and Thomas Woodward, named him Thomas John Woodward, but he changed his name to Tom Jones, possibly capitalizing on the success of the 1963 Film Tom Jones.  

Sir Tom—knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2006—has been performing for six decades, and he tells a fun story from the 1970’s to introduce his song. Tom explains that he and Elvis were spending a lot of time together in the evenings after performing their shows. 

It’s clear that he feels very privileged to have been a friend of Elvis. He’s abundantly aware of Elvis’s superstardom and comes across as very humble. He explains that one night, Elvis suggested they go hear Chuck Berry. As they listened to the St. Louis, Missouri-born rock and roller, Elvis told Tom that Chuck Berry was “the real king of rock and roll.” Tom repeats the comment, assuring his audience that those were Elvis’s words. He was there when he said it. 

Tom proceeds to deliver an outstanding rendition of one of Chuck Berry’s greatest hits, ‘Johnny B Goode.’ At 83, Sir Tom still has a few dance moves left, even after having two hip replacements! Commenters from around the world express their admiration for him and his music. 

With a howl at 2:10, the guitarist on his right plays a rousing solo until about 2:45. At 3:20, the Welsh singer sings his final note, pumps his fists, gives a nod and a grin to the fans, and mouths “thank you.” It looks like many are standing, and the applause continues for a few moments.

Sir Tom Jones is most famous for hits like ‘What’s New PussyCat?’ and ‘Delilah,’ ‘She’s a Lady,’ and ‘It’s Not Unusual.’ Here, however, he does a fabulous performance and simultaneously honors both senior artists. Chuck Berry, born in 1926, was about 14 years older than Tom, and Elvis, born in 1935, was five years older.

Voices of Liberty, a group of immensely talented vocalists, gave a stunning a cappella rendition of “God Bless America” at EPCOT.

The United States of America is a comparatively young nation. Many countries around the world have existed for hundreds, even thousands of years, in one form or another. In the short time the USA has existed, God’s blessings and touch have been upon this country in many ways. 

Several songs generally heard and performed around our nation’s birthday -  Fourth of July -  mention God’s guidance and direction in the formation of the United States of America. One of those beloved patriotic songs that asks for God’s continued blessing upon this country is “God Bless America.”

In a video posted on YouTube, Voices of Liberty, a group who commonly performs at EPCOT, one of the four popular Walt Disney World theme parks in central Florida. It’s an outstanding and chilling vocal performance that is likely to bring a tear or two to your eye.

Their harmonies are beautiful. No one misses a single note throughout the nearly four-minute video.

It may be a song we’ve heard repeatedly over the years, but it’s one that you’ll likely never get tired of hearing, especially when it’s delivered this beautifully. The lyrics are ones that everyone can recite from memory, but they mean so much.

Those born in the United States of America have been tremendously blessed, having been born in the land of opportunity. The USA is not only the wealthiest country the world has ever seen, but it’s also the most generous, helping those around the world who are not as fortunate or blessed as Americans.

The supremely talented Gardiner Brothers performed a dazzling and mesmerizing dance routine to the Bee Gees’ classic “Stayin’ Alive.”

Classic songs withstand the test of time. Even decades after their initial release, they are still beloved and sung by everyone within earshot. Only a handful, a minority of songs, ever go on to become classics.

One of those tunes that belongs in that special, exclusive category is the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive.” Seconds into the song, moments after starting, everyone recognizes the song and will be singing along to the Disco-era track. It’s one of the most recognized and easily identifiable songs of all time.

In a clip posted on social media, the Gardiner Brothers—Mike and Matthew—turned in an outstanding and delightful dance performance to the Bee Gees classic.

The short video begins with the song and the young men in full swing. They both strut their stuff, staying entirely in sync with one another. Neither of them misses a single step throughout the entire clip. 

Their feet move at a rapid pace, slapping the boards underneath them rhythmically. It’s a wholly mesmerizing display. They even managed to incorporate a few moves that look like they would have been performed during the Disco-era.

Their moves and routine remind fans of another iconic image when “Stayin’ Alive” was being played. No one will be able to watch this clip and not think about John Travolta making his way down the sidewalk during the opening scene of the film “Saturday Night Fever.”

Like all their other videos, the two talented young men don’t just dance anywhere. In this clip, Mike and Matthew are in Australia. They dance with the Sydney Opera House right behind them.

Matthew and Mike are incredibly gifted dancers, as they show with each new video they record and post on social media.

This popular Leonard Cohen song was covered by Lucy Thomas during a live performance at The Stoller Hall in Manchester, England. Written in 1984, it has become one of the most popular songs of all time. Lucy did an amazing job covering the song during this performance, and the audience gave her a standing ovation after hearing her sing it.

In the video, Lucy is in a pink suit on stage lined with many candles, and a piano is there to accompany her. Right from the start, her beautiful and powerful voice pairs so well with the music, and hearing her sing the lyrics to ‘Hallelujah’ is truly a delight.

Regarding her background, Lucy Thomas is 20 years old and from Wigan, Lancashire in England. She shares a lot of recordings online of both covers and original songs, and many people love seeing her videos.

Also known as ‘Con te partirò,’ this Italian song was written by Francesco Sartori and Lucio Quarantotto. It was first performed by Andrea Bocelli at the 1995 Sanremo Music Festival and recorded on his album of the same year titled Bocelli.

In this music video, it is heartwarming to see the talented father and son singing together. It is such a beautiful song, and hearing both of their voices blend together throughout the music makes it that much more beautiful.

While they are singing together, it is clear to see the respect and love that Matteo has for his father when he looks at him, the one and only Andrea Bocelli. Now, Matteo has truly followed in his father's footsteps, and what a wonderful legacy for both him and his father to sing this powerful song together.

Karolina Protsenko covers it in this video with her violin and her brothers Leo, who is 5 years old, and Nicholas, who is 3 years old. Leo plays beautifully on the piano, and Nicholas is so precious, singing out the lyrics of the song into the microphone. Many people around them watch their wonderful performance and can’t help but smile at the sweet sight.

When it comes to the Protsenko family, everyone has a deep love for one another and for music. And Nicholas, the youngest of the bunch, uses his voice to add music to the family. He also really enjoys his family’s concerts.

What an incredible performance from Denise and Stefan, a talented husband-and-wife duo who blew the judges away with their BGT audition. Right from the start, you could tell that this blind couple has something special. Denise and Stefan started their time on stage with a funny story about how they first met on the train. Then, they shared about Denise’s fight with cancer. Thankfully, her scans are clear now, and she is in remission.

Then, Denise started to sing 'Climb Every Mountain' from The Sound of Music while Stefan accompanied her on the piano. The whole performance was so beautiful, and it even had one of the judges tearing up. After they finished their audition, the whole room erupted with a standing ovation!

This is one talented couple! They were also witty and cheerful. The two had such a bright outlook that they could laugh at themselves, smile in the face of adversity, and make us laugh along with them!

“I’m actually inspired by you,” shared Bruno Tonioli, one of the BGT judges. “I’ve learned something today about your positive state of mind and the ability to have a sense of humor about yourself. We all need to know that you are an example, you really are. I admire you.”

“We always say this. You know, without people like you, this show is nothing, and it’s true,” shared Simon Cowell. “I’m so happy you made the decision to come on our show. I think you’re both amazing people. Your whole attitude is actually quite unbelievable.”

Denise and Stefan went on to get 4 yeses from the judges, and we can’t wait to see what this couple does next!

In a stirring tribute to the late country music legend Toby Keith, Opry star Carrie Underwood captivated audiences with her breathtaking rendition of "Should've Been A Cowboy" during her recent performance at the Grand Ole Opry.

 Dressed in a delicate gown adorned with sparkles of blue and white, Carrie took the stage with grace and poise, channeling the spirit of Keith's iconic hit from 1993. As her angelic voice filled the hallowed halls of the Opry, it was as if time stood still, transporting listeners back to a simpler era of country music.

Dressed in simple pink and purple outfits, surrounded by fallen balloons, the group of young men and women embarked on a musical journey that left the audience spellbound.

Their voices blended seamlessly as they harmonized with the iconic lyrics, filling the air with warmth and nostalgia. Each note was a testament to their dedication and passion for music, captivating the hearts of all who listened.

With every verse, “Once I thought my innocence was gone. Now I know that happiness goes on. That's where you found me. When you put your arms around me. I haven't been there for the longest time;” the students poured their souls into the performance, infusing the song with emotion and sincerity. It was more than just a rendition; it was a heartfelt tribute to the power of music to connect us all.

A group of six musically gifted and adorable children gave a touching and moving performance of a timeless tune about Christ’s deep and enduring love, “Jesus Loves Me.”

There are many ways to show someone you love and care about them. Of course, the easiest and most apparent method is to simply tell them. “I love you” may only be three words, but they mean so much.

Another way to show your care and affection for someone else is to purchase gifts like flowers, chocolates or a diamond engagement ring. Another much less expensive form of displaying love is to spend time with someone and do something they enjoy. 

As much as all those activities display our love for someone else, Jesus Christ showed us the ultimate act of love. He willingly went to the cross and experienced a gruesome, agonizing and brutal death on the cross. 

Jesus took our place on that tree, enduring a death, a crucifixion that He did not deserve. He laid down His life for us while we were still sinners. That’s how much Jesus loves you and me.

In a clip posted on YouTube, six children, members of the Cinereski family, sang that beloved child’s tune, “Jesus Loves Me.”

While it may be a children’s song and one of the first that all church children learn, the lyrics still contain a lot of truth that adults would be well served to learn and remember. The opening verse is simple but memorable and is so for a reason.

“Jesus loves me, this I know

For the Bible tells me so

Little ones to Him belong

They are weak, but He is strong”

Christ died and endured a painful, brutal death and later rose from the grave for you and me so that we may be forgiven and experience eternal life with Him one day.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

One man, Michael Eldridge, put his stunning, God-given musical talent on full display with a fantastic and awe-inspiring a cappella cover of the beloved hymn “When We All Get to Heaven.”

Contemporary Christian music is wonderful and popular at the moment. Most people would and do prefer those songs over the classic church hymns. Additionally, many churches completely ignore the hymns, opting to play and perform only Christian contemporary tunes.

In my opinion, the old hymns are far and away better than any contemporary Christian tune. Everyone has their preferences, likes and dislikes. But how could you ever beat “Victory in Jesus,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “Amazing Grace?” You cannot do it. While those hymns may be hundreds of years old in some cases, they still say more and have much more feeling and meaning than any modern Christian praise and worship song. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, one man gives a stunning vocal performance as he sings one of those beloved hymns, “When We All Get to Heaven.” You’re likely more than familiar with that hymn, but it’s a classic and still played and covered for a reason.

The chorus is simple but so iconic, memorable and powerful.

“When we all get to Heaven

What a day of rejoicing that will be

When we all see Jesus

We’ll sing and shout the victory!”

As a follower of Jesus Christ, if those lines don’t get you excited and pumped, I’m not sure anything will do the trick. 

The goal is to get to Heaven, reunite with loved ones who have gone before us and finally see our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In four short lines, that hymn manages to capture everything that every Christian is looking forward to seeing and doing.

John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are rooms enough; if it was not so, would I have said that I am going to make ready a place for you?”

A group of talented musicians, Pearlgrace & Co., turned in a mesmerizing and stunning cover performance of “Sound of the Saints.”

The world is a lost and fallen place, with sin’s impact apparent. Sin wrecks and destroys everything that it has and ever will touch. However, even in this world marred by sin, God remains faithful, righteous and loving. 

The good Lord shows His love for us in several visible and apparent ways. Anytime we wake up, we can enjoy another day on Earth, which is a blessing from Him. The beautiful skies, the gorgeous sunrises and the breathtaking sunsets are all signs of a talented and loving artist displaying His work for all to see and gaze upon. 

In addition to what can be seen in creation, the Lord sent His one and only Son who took our place, experiencing an agonizing and wholly undeserved death on our behalf. That is the ultimate sign of love. He fulfilled and paid a debt that we will never be able to repay. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, Pearlgrace & Co. sing “Sound of the Saints.” It’s an outstanding musical performance with the tune’s moving lyrics mentioning the wonder and beauty of God’s creation that is visible to all on Earth. 

Additionally, the song states that despite the beautiful images, the songwriter most desires to hear their Savior’s voice and the sound of the saints—the angels and those who have been saved and transformed by the blood of Jesus Christ.

“I will hear the chorus of the angels

A forever symphony of praise

I long to hear the voice of my Savior

And He hears us the sound of the saints”

This is far from the group’s only performance. On their YouTube channel, there are hundreds of videos of them singing and performing songs such as “Victory in Jesus” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

Johnny Carson welcomed June Carter Cash on his show in July 1980, and Mrs. Johnny Cash’s powerful performance of ‘Ring of Fire’ lit up the stage!

Most folks only remember Johnny Cash when we hear the classic country hit ‘Ring of Fire.’ However, the song was not written or originally recorded by Mr. Cash. As June shared before singing, she penned the song. June and songwriter Merle Kilgore wrote the love song in 1962, and it was first recorded by June’s sister, Anita Carter.

It was, however, Johnny Cash’s recording, released in April 1963, that made the song a phenomenal hit. June explains that though she’s very proud of her husband’s version, she’d like to perform ‘Ring of Fire’ her way—the way it was sung the very first time. That she does.

The beautiful songstress plays guitar and sings a slower version of the song. Perhaps her rendition allows listeners to ponder the lyrics a bit more. ‘Ring of Fire’ was written during the time that June and Johnny were falling in love. However, Johnny was dealing with addiction issues, so their relationship was stressful and complicated in those early days. 

Mel Christensen of Old Time Music wrote, “On the surface, ‘Ring of Fire’ might seem like a simple love song about two people being consumed with passion. But the lyrics actually refer to something much deeper – the pain and struggle that come with falling in love.”

Following her performance, June’s dress is hung up on the stool and she needs Johnny Carson’s assistance to get freed. Her crocheted dress didn’t cooperate, but it sure looked lovely with her long, dark hair and generous jewelry. She’s a pretty lady. Funny, too!

She tells the Host Johnny why her Johnny isn’t with her. He’s fishing in Canada after his appearance on Alice got canceled when the actors went on strike. And, when asked if she worries about her husband, she laughs and says that she doesn’t these days, because “he straightened up real good.” She rattles off the ages of their children from prior marriages and reminds Johnny about the one they share together, 10-year-old John Carter.

Mrs. Cash seems innocent, playful, and flirty all at the same time. As Johnny said before she ever appeared on stage, she is very charming! In the final few minutes of the clip, Johnny talks with June about her 1979 autobiography, Among My Klediments, she plays the autoharp, and they reminisce about old radio and when it came only from stations in border towns. 

Many have recorded covers of June’s song. Frank Zappa recorded a live reggae-style version, Dwight Yoakam did a honky-tonk rendition, and Blondie rocked out “Ring of Fire.” None will be as good as June’s and Johnny’s two! 

Commenters remarked on the love between Mr. and Mrs. Cash, saying “she literally saved the life of Johnny Cash” and that she was “the only remedy Johnny ever needed.” The two legends died within four months of one another in 2003, June passing in May and Johnny later that year in September. 

Johnny Carson, often playing the straight man, brought amazing music, clean comedy, fun interviews, culture, and even a little history into the homes of viewers all across the United States for 30 years!

Legendary musician Paul Simon turned in a captivating and masterful performance of his classic “Slip Slidin’ Away” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Only a handful of musicians' names and works are instantly recognized across generations. Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Frank Sinatra all come to mind immediately as musicians who belong to this category. For example, people born decades after The Beatles broke up still know and love their classic tunes. 

Another musician who fits perfectly in that exclusive category is Paul Simon. He and Art Garfunkel’s classic “The Sound of Silence” is one of music history's most recognized and covered songs. Even those who aren’t fans of Simon and Garfunkel know that tune and can likely sing along purely because they have heard it so many times.

When Simon and Garfunkel broke up and went their separate ways, both continued producing music. Paul has had solo success with songs such as “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” “You Can Call Me Al,” and “Slip Slidin’ Away.”
