The Daily Pulse (Thursday, October 11, 2012): But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:6 (NIV)
I volunteered to go to Haiti and shoot two organizations making real change after the death and destruction of the earthquake. Please take the time to watch this compelling video. For more information or to donate go to their websites.
Neurosurgeon Dr. Eben Alexandar was a man of science and never believed in near-death experiences and the afterlife...until it happened to him. After a seven day coma, his encounter with Heaven was one he could not keep to himself. Now a devout Christian, he has no doubts about his faith in Jesus! You've got to hear what he has to say about proof of God's existence!
For those doubting his faith, here is an excerpt from his book "Although I considered myself a faithful Christian, I was so more in name than in actual belief. I didn’t begrudge those who wanted to believe that Jesus was more than simply a good man who had suffered at the hands of the world. I sympathized deeply with those who wanted to believe that there was a God somewhere out there who loved us unconditionally. In fact, I envied such people the security that those beliefs no doubt provided. But as a scientist, I simply knew better than to believe them myself."
If you haven't heard the story of Colton Burpo, then you must! In his near death experience at the age of 4, Colton saw Heaven and the majesty of God first hand. A professional junk remover uncovered an unbelievable amount of money when taking care of a client's estate after their passing. What he does with it is truly shocking and will restore your faith in humanity!
A wonderful gospel song from one of the Gaither Gatherings. My favorite line is "God is faithful". A very simple line, I'm not a huge southern gospel music fan, but I really like Jeff & Sheri Easter. Lots of energy, lots of devotion, wonderful voices. Thank you Jeff & Sheri.
Brandy is a fairly new artist based in Charleston, SC. She has been singing since she was 14, and started out singing covers of country songs. At some point I guess she started feeling unfulfilled with that, and she switched to singing Christian music, but still with a country tinge. I heard this song, "My Hallelujah" on my local Christian radio station, and I was blown away. She is really, really good. The song was written by Marti Lynn Dodson. Wonderful message, "Holy, holy, my King forever!"
The Daily Pulse (Wednesday, October 10, 2012): "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)
This is a wonderful song from Hillsong United's album "Aftermath". It was written by Joel Houston and Dylan Thomas, and sung by Jill McCloghry. The lyrics speak of submission, of tumbling towards God in an avalanche of submission.
I stumbled across the music of this young woman while browsing someone else's YouTube channel. She is very talented. I asked her if it was OK for me make a video for her song. I think she is equally as talented as Natalie Grant. Here is a song she wrote and sang. Wonderful lyrics, wonderful voice. Check our her channel:
A beautiful song from the compilation CD "The Mercy Project", from 2000. This CD was put together as a charity collaboration to support young women struggling with issues of unplanned pregnancies, substance addictions, spousal abuse, etc. It's a wonderful CD, in spite of the sobering undertones. The message in the music offers hope to the young women who have these particular burdens. Check it out. The name of the organization is "Mercy Ministries Of America".
The Ohio State University Marching Band delighted the fans with an INCREDIBLE half-time show unlike any other. You will get butterflies watching this! It's so cool! See what all you can identify and write it in the comments!
