His point… “These things, which are good things and helpful things, mean nothing in God’s eyes if they are not being done by people who are themselves becoming more and more loving…. For if that isn’t true, you are missing the point of being Christian at all”.

Two major lessons…

Religious activities and experiences that are centered primarily around what it can do for us is a dangerous thing….
What counts for God is the direction of what is taking place within us more than individual acts or experiences…
