Just before WWII a very holy Christian woman by the name of Faustina Kowalska, was given a series of visions by the Lord, exclaiming that anyone who prayed this prayer devoutly with real intention, would be given extraordinary mercy.
And even the dying who were unrepentant would be converted on their death beds. She was a holy intercessor that was given the gift of appearing at the bedside of the dying, praying this prayer for them, even though she never left her home.
She died the night the first shot was fired in WWII, because the Lord told her, "My Daughter do not hold back My hand any longer." Her heart for souls would not allow her to stop her prayers, so the Lord took her home.
In these times, and especially America, we need this prayer more than ever. Through the Holy Spirit this chaplet will create an atmosphere of peace and calm in the room of the dying.
This simple prayer helps us to focus on God the Father, Jesus, and the world. It is not a vain repetition, rather it is supplication with intention, the intention for God to grant us mercy, in this perilous time. We don't know what will be averted by sincerely praying for mercy, but we do know that God is Mercy Himself.
