Relationships:overcoming ungodly soul ties and emotional injuries

In this book you will explore various unhealthy relationships where individuals were injured emotionally, physically and sometimes psychologically and left with a low self-image to battle.
There are unhealthy relationships that can also be labeled as ungodly soul ties due to the addictive and controlled behavior one may exhibit over another in the relationship.
The characters in this book were in relationships that left them wounded spiritually, mentally and physically. Their battles were heartaches and their struggles were in their mind that defined the type of war they were in: both spiritually and psychologically. You will read how some expressed feelings of being strapped, joined and bound to thoughts of others in the relationship and how they desired to regain their mind back.

From Womb to Tomb… and Beyond

Sometime after Isaac marries the beautiful Rebekah she becomes pregnant with twins, Esau and Jacob. And those two boys are at each other from the start, jostling within her womb, fighting with each other over who comes out first! And nothing changes after their birth. Jacob and Esau contend with each other all their lives, right to the very end.

Something Smells Fishy

When my children were growing up, each night at bedtime I would read to them bible stories from “The Beginner’s Bible.” And “Jonah” was their favorite story. But as they grew up they began to have doubts: “How could a guy live inside a fish for three days,” they asked? It’s a good question, and it’s plagued grown-up bible readers, too -- including bible scholars -- for a long time. Search the Internet and you’ll find any number of outrageous attempts to “prove” that Jonah could live inside a fish, explanations that range from the miraculous survival of a giant 300-million year old “dunkleosteus” capable of swallowing a man, to God preparing a “special” fish -- apparently without digestive juices -- to accomplish the task.

Worms, Worms and More Worms

There are some pretty gross deaths in the Bible, but there is one that tops them all! And it takes place in a beautiful theater at on the Mediterranean coast. And it’s a very public event.

A Daughter’s Dilemma

As the Israelites are about to enter the Promised Land, God tells his people in Deuteronomy 12: 31 that when they do: “You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.” And in Deuteronomy 18: 10 God commands his people: “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire…” Yet, in Judges 11 in the story of Jephthah, God apparently commends Jephthah when he offers his daughter to God as a burnt offering, fulfilling of a vow he had taken. How can that be?

Walkin’ On The Water

Jesus performs many miracles during his public ministry: he calms a storm… he gives sight to the blind… he cures leprosy… he raises the dead. All of his miracles have a compassionate, moral or didactic purpose. Except for one: when he walks on the water. Why did he do that?

News Bulletin 22 July 2011 -- The Christian Institute

The Home Office has said it will assess whether the law should be re-worded by removing the word 'insulting' from Section 5 of the Public Order Act. A cross-party group of MPs have welcomed the Equality and Human Rights Commission's statement that courts should have done more to protect Christians affected by new equality laws. TV soap Emmerdale is now taking a more realistic view on assisted suicide according to Dr Peter Saunders. A mother's application to end the life of her paralysed daughter is being heard by the Court of Protection as the woman has a degree of consciousness. A survey of medical students revealed that nearly half object to late term abortion of disabled babies. And this week celebrated the anniversary of an impassioned letter from John Newton to his friend William Wilberforce encouraging him to stay in politics.

Response to a You Tube Viewer on the Subject of Truth

Where does one go to define truth? As Christians we believe the Bible is the Truth (Jn 17:17), that Christ is the way, the truth and the life (Jn. 14:6; 17:3). But what is truth, and how is it defined? Rob gives some guidelines in this video by answering
a question from a YouTube viewer.
