Caleb and Kelsey, a musically gifted Christian couple, have turned in a dazzling and captivating cover of the beloved praise and worship tune “Shout to the Lord.”

Life is often unbearable and overwhelming. Situations and circumstances can come seemingly out of nowhere to change and shatter our entire world. These horrible, life-altering moments do not discriminate against who they touch and impact. It can happen to anyone at any moment.

Now, try to navigate those trying, painful periods without God walking by your side. Those experiences can push us to our limit with Him, but handling them without relying on His guidance, protection and love would be nearly impossible. 

The Bible states that God will never leave or forsake us. Instead, He remains by our side, going through those dark valleys with us. In those times, He offers His love, rest and protection from the storm. In a clip posted on YouTube, Caleb and Kelsey perform “Shout to the Lord,” a tune about His magnificent and wonderful love, and our need and desire to show Him praise and reverence.

Caleb and Kelsey are gifted singers who consistently use their God-given abilities to bring praise, glory and honor to His name. They do so again with their cover of “Shout to the Lord.” Their beautiful tones and harmonies make this a cover to be listened to repeatedly.

However, the song’s wonderful message and beautifully written lyrics only exceed the outstanding vocal performances. We would all be lost without the Lord’s comfort, guidance, faithfulness and love. Because of Him and His mercy and grace, we have been forgiven and made a child of the one true King!

Parkside Harmony brings an exquisite performance of the song, ‘Mr. Blue Sky’ in this YouTube video. 

This group gives a perfect barbershop harmony performance of this popular classic song at the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 2024 Midwinter Convention in New York City. 

Parkside Harmony is an a cappella chorus from Hershey, PA. There is also a Parkside Melody chorus. They were founded in 2015, and according to their YouTube page, their purpose is “to do our part to ‘keep the whole world singing’”

‘Mr. Blue Sky’ is a great choice for the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 2024 Midwinter Convention. It has the right beats and catchiness that make for a great performance. 

‘Mr. Blue Sky’ is a song by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), which is an English band made up of Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, and Bev Bevan. The song is featured on their 1977 album, Out of the Blue. 

Mr. Blue Sky is a very catchy tune, and starts off with:

“Sun is shinin' in the sky

There ain't a cloud in sight

It's stopped rainin', everybody's in the play

And don't you know

It's a beautiful new day? Hey”

The song was written and produced by Jeff Lynne. About writing the song he has said, “I remember writing the words down. I was at a chalet in the mountains of Switzerland, and it was all misty and cloudy all the way around. I didn’t see any countryside for the first four days or so, and then everything cleared, and there was this enormous view forever, and the sky was blue.”

The song has been used in many movies, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

This video is a clip of the PS22 Chorus singing the classic song, ‘Home On the Range.’

The Chorus is made up of around 60-70 4th and 5th graders from Public School 22 in Staten Island, New York, who know how to make lovely music. 

The PS22 Chorus was founded in 2000 by the school’s music teacher, Gregg Breinberg. He led his 2001-2002 chorus to live TV after September 11th. They have since gained popularity online. 

Students are assigned to the Chorus after an annual auditioning process at the beginning of the school year. They practice a couple of times a week and perform at school functions, local events, and for special requests.

PS22 is the largest elementary school in Staten Island, and its Chorus is quite wonderful. The kids are passionate about music, and they have been able to explore many opportunities over the years, such as singing with artists such as Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood. 

The song ‘Home On the Range’ is a classic cowboy song and is sometimes called the unofficial anthem of the American West. The song began as a poem called ‘My Western Home’ in 1872 or 1873. The writer, Dr. Brewster M. Higley, was inspired by his new home in Kansas. He lived in a small cabin near West Beaver Creek.

A friend of his, Daniel E. Kelley, developed a melody for the poem on his guitar. Many adopted the song, and it spread throughout the United States. The song was also adopted as the state song of Kansas in the 1940s. 

With its catchy tune and lyrics, many know the words by heart, and it is a reminder of America’s past in the Old West.

In this YouTube video, street performers Allie Sherlock and Cuan Durkin perform the song ‘Unchained Melody’ by the Righteous Brothers. 

Allie is an Irish singer who has gained popularity by performing live on the streets of Dublin. Cuan is another young Irish musician who performs well with Allie. They both have active YouTube pages where they share their work. 

The song they are singing, ‘Unchanged Melody,’ was first released in 1955. The music is by Alex North, with lyrics by Hy Zaret. The song was written as a theme for the movie Unchained, which came out in 1955. However, the song became more popular when the Righteous Brothers recorded it 1965. 

The lyrics make for a romantic love song, which begins with, “Woah, my love, my darling,” and ends with, “Are you still mine? I need your love I need your love…”

Elvis Presley performed the song in 1977 and recorded it as a single. It is also one of the songs used in the movie Elvis from 2022. In 1990, the song resurfaced in popularity after being used in the movie Ghost. 

Allie and Cuan have gained quite the crowd with their version of ‘Unchained Melody.’ Their duet starts off slow, but the tempo picks up as the song goes on. At times, the two smile at one another. 

Many in the comments enjoyed their performance together. One commenter says, “Allie, it's so good to see this video again. You and Cuan absolutely excelled yourselves! Talk about goosebumps!! Thank you for this great posting” and another, “Allie and Cuan take the audience into a world that reflects the different facets of this timeless love song. This four-man a cappella group, Quorum, has nailed this performance! 

The YouTube clip is from the Friday night show at the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 2024 Midwinter Convention in New York City. The Barbershop Harmony Society was founded in 1938. They are a non-profit organization that provides active programs and resources in music education, publishing, performance, and community outreach. 

Quorum is comprised of Jacob “Puck” Ross, a tenor, from Ohio, Chris Vaughn, lead, from New Jersey, Nathan Johnston, a baritone, from Florida, and Gary Lewis, a bass, from Ohio. They are a muli-state group that states on their website, “Quorum couldn’t be more excited to share our love for this wonderful craft and hope one day we can bring this joy of harmony to all corners of the globe.”

Quorum is also the 2022 BHS International Quartet champion. 

The four men meld their musical talents together beautifully. They also bring personality to the performance with the perfect facial expressions. They make you want to sing along with them during the song. 

The song, 'I'm Feelin' Fine' begins with, 

“I woke up this morning feeling fine

I woke up with Heaven on my mind

I woke up with joy in my soul

'Cause I knew my Lord had control”

It is quite the ideal song for this barbershop performance, with catchy lyrics that are easy for others to remember. 

Barbershop groups are made up of ​​a tenor, lead, baritone, and bass, as we see with Quorum. The tenor is the highest part and harmonizes above the lead. The lead is the second highest part, singing the melody. The baritone sings above and below the lead; the bass is the lowest part of the four sounds.

Two contestants on The Voice turned in a dazzling vocal performance as they sang a duet to the classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”

Over the course of a handful of decades, musicians have produced hundreds, possibly even thousands of songs. Most of those tunes have been or will be long forgotten. Sure, they may have sounded great when first released and hit the radio. They may have even topped the charts for a little while. But you’ll likely forget that most songs even existed after a few years.

However, only a few select songs are and will be remembered long after they were released. That’s the actual test of a good song. What does it sound like, and does it hold up 10, 20 and even 30 years after its initial release date? Most songs fail this test. But those that pass are classics, and deservedly so.

Frankie Valli, during his career, produced several unforgettable songs. They are songs that are still remembered and sung decades after they were first released to the public. One of Frankie’s most memorable and beloved songs is “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”

In a clip posted on YouTube, Maddi Jane and Nadège sing a duet on The Voice as they battle to win the judges' approval and remain on the popular singing competition program. 

Both young women sound terrific, showing off their immense musical talent. The women slightly change the song to stand out and make the tune their own. Their delivery is different from Frankie’s original. 

The studio audience and all four judges seemed to adore the performances. All have massive smiles during the performance. After the song, all four judges are on their feet, applauding the young women.

Legendary singer-songwriter Willie Nelson was joined on stage by Kermit the Frog for a special moment as the two sang a duet to “Rainbow Connection.”

Many dream of being a musician, playing on stage in front of thousands of adoring fans every night. For that reason, shows like American Idol, The Voice and America’s Got Talent never struggle to find people hoping to make it on the show. Sadly, only a few are ever able to achieve their musical dream.

The entertainment field is a highly competitive field, with many people itching to break in, hoping for a chance to show their stuff. Some people have what it takes to make music a career, and others do not. 

One person who has been thrilling and entertaining audiences for decades is the legendary Willie Nelson. Even in his 90s, Willie continues to turn out music and play his beloved tunes for his adoring fans. 

Throughout his illustrious career, Willie has sung with some talented and iconic musicians. He has sung with Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Toby Keith, Sheryl Crow and Dolly Parton. That is an all-star list of musicians!

Now, Willie can add another name to his list of famous and talented collaborators: Kermit the Frog. 

In a clip posted on social media, Willie was joined on stage by the popular green Muppet, and they sang “Rainbow Connection.”

The crowd obviously loved the unique and sweet moment between the two. Who wouldn’t enjoy something like that? Duets like that don’t happen very often.

Even seeing the two guys holding and manipulating the Kermit the Frog figure doesn’t detract from the duet performance. 

Thankfully, it was Kermit and not Miss Piggy. Even though she tries, everyone knows that Miss Piggy is musically challenged and unable to carry a note in a bucket. 

Psalm 95:1 “O come, let us make songs to the Lord; sending up glad voices to the Rock of our salvation.”

Two young female contestants on The Voice nailed a dazzling duet, singing Stevie Nicks’ classic “Edge of Seventeen.”

Fleetwood Mac is one of the all-time classic bands. The group has been around for decades and has turned out dozens of beloved tunes during their run. While the band comprises several members, lead singer Stevie Nicks is the one person most closely associated with the group.

Her voice is beautiful, unique and unmistakable. Anytime you hear Stevie Nicks singing, you immediately know you’re hearing a Fleetwood Mac tune or one of her solo songs. There is no confusing her sound with anyone else. That’s likely a big reason she has been so incredibly successful.

In a clip posted on YouTube, two women – Jackie Romeo and Olivia Rubini – turned in an outstanding and awe-inspiring duet of Stevie’s beloved “Edge of Seventeen.”

Both young women gave fantastic vocal performances, making their cover of Stevie Nicks’ timeless tune appear effortless. The studio audience was into it basically from the first notes. 

However, those in the audience weren’t the only people who enjoyed Jackie and Olivia’s performance. All of the judges were overly complimentary, showering both women with kind words. 

The two women were performing as part of the battle rounds on The Voice. Both were singing for the right to remain on the program. Ultimately, their coach, John Legend, selected one of the women as the winner. 

But there was a significant twist at the end of the clip that likely no one saw coming. Dan + Shay used a steal in order to grab and add the young women who lost the battle to their team.

A trio of supremely talented vocalists, The Texas Tenors, turned in a mesmerizing and fantastic performance, singing “Unchained Melody” on Larry’s Country Diner.

There are some tunes, no matter how many times you have heard them, that will never become old and tiring. You may have listened to a particular song several thousand times, but it’s just as enjoyable each time as if you’re hearing it for the first time. 

There are only a few, very limited number of songs that are such beloved classics. “Amazing Grace” most definitely belongs in that category. No one will ever get sick of hearing those beautiful lyrics about being lost and blind but finding and experiencing God’s extraordinary, life-changing grace.

Another timeless track is The Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody.” It’s a tune that is instantly recognizable. From the song’s opening notes, everyone within earshot will know what song has just started playing. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, the three guys who make up the group, The Texas Tenors, gave a lovely performance of the Righteous Brothers’ hit from 1965. 

“I’ve hungered for your touch

A long, lonely time

And time goes by so slowly

And time can do so much”

The three men blend their voices, creating a stunning harmony. Their vocal performance deserves to be heard several times.

Before the clip ends, the guys have summoned a woman in a long, brightly colored dress and a bonnet to them. Each serenades her as the audience looks at the scene before them.

Finally, the audience responds to the awe-inspiring and masterful vocal performance with hearty and well-deserved applause. 

“Unchained Melody” is a song that has been covered thousands of times by hundreds of artists since its release nearly sixty years ago. The tune will likely continue to be covered and played for years.

Two incredibly talented singers on The Voice combined their immense musical gifts for a mesmerizing and dazzling duet of Carole King’s “You’ve Got a Friend.”

Friends are essential and invaluable people. They can be counted on when life becomes overwhelming and unbearable. They will be a shoulder to cry on and a hand offering to pick us up when we stumble and fall.

One cannot have too many friends. That is simply an impossible thing to do. Someone can always have more friends or, at the very least, acquaintances. Anyone with a close friend will agree that they add so much to life. The more friends you have, the better, more prosperous and fuller life you’ll lead. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, Mafe and Rivers Grayson, from Team Legend, sing their hearts out, battling to remain on the show. Despite the competitive nature of the show, Mafe and Rivers work well together, blending their voices to create a wonderful duet as they sing Carole King’s classic song about friendship.

And I’ll be there

From the moment that they opened their mouths, John Legend, their coach, was won over and verbally expressed his delight with their duet.

“Beautiful,” John commented as Rivers sang the opening lyrics.

“Yes, Mafe,” he said when she started singing the tune’s opening verse.

Both singers turned in a terrific vocal performance, winning praise from all four judges. However, when it came to decision time, John declared Mafe the winner of that particular challenge.

While not the most upbeat or energetic track in the world, Carole's song is still beautifully written. The lyrics perfectly describe a dear friend and Christ, whom we can call upon at any time or place, and He will hear and answer our prayers every time. He will also stick closer than any friend, never leaving our side, especially during troubling and painful situations.

A massive ensemble of musicians delivered an electrifying rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic tune “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?”

The 1960s and 70s were a great time for music fans. Those decades provided some great, timeless tunes that are still widely played and heavily covered today. The chances are that any great, classic rock band or musician you would name was probably active in those decades.

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley and The Eagles were all in their heydays in those years. That’s just a tiny sampling of the groups turning out unforgettable tunes. Other groups such as Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and The Beach Boys were also doing their thing in that timeframe.

Another group around during the 60s and 70s that has an endless collection of hits is Creedence Clearwater Revival. Their rock and country-infused songs, beautiful and incredibly catchy lyrics and John Fogerty’s distinctive voice create that unmistakable CCR sound.

In the mind-blowing video, the guitarists accompany thousands of seats as they all strum on their instruments, playing the song. While the sound is fantastic, the sight of all those people playing in near-perfect coordination is magnificent. 

And it’s not just people who were alive when the song was first released who have joined in on the performance. The musicians are young, old, teenagers, children and everything in between. 

Not only did the musicians play their guitars, but they also lent their vocals, singing the lyrics first made famous by John Fogerty and CCR. 

This clip is a perfect example of how music can literally bring people together.

An incredibly talented trio of siblings called Life in 3D turned in a soul-stirring cover performance of “You Raise Me Up,” which strikes a powerful note. 

Attempting to cover songs from a select group of performers sets you up for failure. Those tunes are often so beloved and sung by musicians with such powerful and distinctive voices that it’s nearly impossible to replicate. Any deviation from the original version will likely be met with widespread disapproval.

Anyone who goes on The Voice, American Idol or America’s Got Talent and attempts to sing a track from Adele, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston or Aretha Franklin better be able to sing. All those women were blessed with strong and powerful voices. 

Another person who could be added to that group of singers with amazingly powerful voices is Josh Groban. His stunning, operatic voice is best known for belting out the lyrics to “You Raise Me Up.” Anyone following him better bring it, or they will likely fall flat on their face. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, Life in 3D brought it, and then some, showing off the strength of their awe-inspiring voices and beautiful harmonies.

The three young singers’ rendition of the Josh Groban hit is fantastic - a statement that will likely get 100% agreement. It’s a version that you’ll want to listen to and watch repeatedly. 

Additionally, their performance goes along with the song’s lyrics about being better and being able to do more because of someone else. This cover performance is made exponentially better by the presence and talents of all three singers.

Several young girls turned in a moving and stunning rendition of the popular gospel tune “Way Maker.”

The world is a lost, fallen and broken place. Unfortunately, people all around us – friends, neighbors and even family members – are hurting and struggling. Many find themselves in seemingly hopeless situations, with nowhere to turn. They see nothing but devastation and despair.

However, there is one who brought hope into a lost, dreary and broken world. He can interject life and hope into a situation that appears to be completely void of hope. He can make something beautiful out of a heaping pile of ashes. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, a group of young women sings “Way Maker,” a tune about Christ and the difference and change He and He alone can bring about.

Many are fighting battles that we could only imagine. Many people are without hope. Sadly, they can see no end to their hurting and struggle. But there is one who can provide a hope and peace like none other. As the song mentions, He is a miracle worker, who continues to change and impact lives today.

His forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal salvation with Him are gifts offered to everyone who calls upon His name. He can do what none other can because He did what none else could. He willingly went to the cross, taking all sin and shame upon Himself, dying a horrible and agonizing death. But that’s not where the story ends, days later, He rose from the grave, winning victory over sin and death. 

Christ is indeed a miracle worker, way maker and a promise keeper.

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the true and living way: no one comes to the Father but by me.’”

This TikTok video is a fun reminder that you should always be open to trying something new. And that it is okay to step out of your comfort zone when asked to do so. 

The video’s text says, “Went to a bar in Nashville and my mom told the band she plays the fiddle. The fiddle player decided to hand off his fiddle to my mom mid song and they didn’t expect her to absolutely shred.”

And shred, she definitely did. If you didn’t know any better, you could assume she was a part of the band. She picked up the fiddle and went for it, not holding back in any way.

There are always opportunities in life to step out of your comfort zone, share your talents, and make a new memory. You never know what can happen.

There is really no difference between the violin and the fiddle other than the style of music that each plays. Fiddle players typically play bluegrass, country, and folk music, such as she is playing in this video. Violin players tend to play classical music. The fiddle is the more catchy, upbeat version of the music you can make with the bowed, stringed musical instrument. 

We don’t know from the video how long the mom has been playing the fiddle, but it’s clear she has been doing so for a while. She wasn’t afraid to pick it up and show off her amazing talent.

A mother and her son turned in a stirring and awe-inspiring performance of the late John Lennon’s classic and iconic tune “Imagine.”

There exists a limited number of songs that most people recognize almost instantly. The first few notes of these songs are played, and everyone within earshot knows the name of the song and the performer. It’s also likely given how many times they’ve heard the song and how familiar they are with the tune, they could sing along verbatim. 

The Rolling Stones are responsible for some of these types of songs. Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, also contributed several. However, some may argue and are likely right that The Beatles have the most instantly recognizable songs of all time. But that is not an accomplishment limited to The Beatles as a group. Individual band members, such as John Lennon, managed to do this.

“Imagine,” written and performed by John, is a universally known song that is beloved by many. In a clip posted on YouTube, Katherine Hallam and Jordan Rabjohn put on a delightful and lovely cover performance of the John Lennon classic.

Mom and son sound terrific, perfectly blending their voices to create an outstanding cover. Both have been blessed with angelic voices that could be listened to repeatedly. Either of them could sing the phonebook, and it would still be a feast for the ears. They also seem to genuinely enjoy each other’s company, giggling and smiling throughout the nearly 3-and-a-half-minute clip.

Hopefully, these two continue to produce these stunning and astounding duets where they sing classic songs as they bless us with their God-given talent for music.

In this video, we get to hear Emma-Jean Galliard, from Johannesburg, sing a wonderful version of the song ‘Love Never Dies’ from the musical Love Never Dies. 

Her voice is exquisite, and she has a powerful voice that is made for this type of music. Her performance reminds you of being at the actual musical. 

Love Never Dies is the sequel to the 1986 musical The Phantom of the Opera and is a loose adaptation of Frederick Forsyth’s 1999 novel, The Phantom of Manhattan. The music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The musical takes place about 10 years after the end of the original musical. The show opened back in 2010. 

The song, ‘Love Never Dies,’ is sung originally by the character Christine in the musical. It begins with:

“Who knows when love begins?

Who knows what makes it start?

One day it's simply there

Alive inside your heart”

‘Love Never Dies’ is about how love never dies, never falters, never fades, never alters, and endures. 

Emma-Jean is an amazing singer and often sings with her father on her account. They perform at corporate and charity events as well as host soirees. They enjoy singing classical and popular songs and bring entertainment to many around the world. 

Emma-Jean has a lot of fans in the comments. One commenter said, “Emma Jean... Bravo! Superstar... your voice is perfect! Your range and power are stunning. Legendary singer and songwriter Billy Idol turned in a stunning acoustic rendition of a tune by another beloved musician when he played Bob Seger’s “Against the Wind.”

Aging is a process that everyone endures and experiences. Every second, minute, hour and day, we are all getting older. As much as we may want to roll back the years, time remains undefeated, with a perfect record. 

Despite the inability to do so, everyone has memories and places they’d love to go back and experience just once more. Everyone longs for the past at some point, looking back fondly on memories and places during childhood. Not many songs capture this feeling and thinking about the past better than Bob Seger’s “Against the Wind.”

In a clip posted on Instagram, Billy picks up a guitar and performs that beloved tune about the past and how people as children and teenagers have no idea how their lives will go or all the choices they will face.

Everyone wishes they could return in time and relieve their younger years or make different choices. Sadly, though, that is not possible, so all we can do is look forward and enjoy the time we have and what we have been given. 

Even Billy, in the video’s description, gets a bit nostalgic and mentions what he and Bob used to do in their younger years.

“Just having a go at singing ‘Against the Wind’ on this Saturday AM….Bob Seger was a runner in his early years but I always think about running on my motorbike,” he wrote.

For those who only know Billy for his hits such as “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” and “Mony Mony,” this video on Instagram is a dramatic but welcomed departure.

‘Footloose’ is quite a fun song. It is upbeat and makes you want to get up and dance when you hear it. 

In this YouTube performance, we watch violinist Karlonia Protesenko playing a cover of Kenny Loggins’ song ‘Footloose’ from the Footloose movie. She also has dancers with her on stage. 

Karolina, 15-years-old, is a violin prodigy. She performs covers of many popular songs from all different decades of music. 

Karolina and the dancers really get into the music, and you can’t help but smile when you watch them. She plays such beautiful music with the violin, and you can tell that the dancers have a lot of fun with the song. 

Karolina plays the violin for the performance and also gets into dancing. And she does a great job of doing both at the same time. She has such talent at just 15 years old. 

‘Footloose’ was written by singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins and was released in 1984. The song was one of two songs Kenny Loggins wrote for the movie Footloose, the other being I’m ‘Free (Heaven Help the Man).’ ‘Footloose’ was nominated for Best Original Song at the 1985 Academy Awards.

A blind 8-year-old child shines whenever he plays the organ, showing off his mesmerizing skills on the instrument despite his physical disability.

There are a lot of impressive and talented people in this world. The Lord has been generous with the skills and abilities he has given to people. Some people are gifted academically and can remember and recall, with lightning-quick speed, specific dates and events in history. Others may excel in athletics, putting their superior athletic ability to work on the football field or the basketball court. 

However, other individuals might have a natural aptitude for music and playing instruments. Some people can pick up an instrument, tinker with it for a few minutes and moments later, they are producing some beautiful and pleasant sounds. 

Nykoda Icke is one of those individuals who has been blessed with a gift for creating beautiful sounds. The young man, who has been blind since he was very young after being diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, has not let his lack of sight time from playing the piano, keyboard and organ.

The short clip shows the young man playing a keyboard and even using an organ to play “Jump,” one of Van Halen’s classic hits. 

But that’s not all. After Nykoda and his mother attended a Hector Olivera concert, a world-renowned organist, the young man got a chance to play with the famed musician. 

Hector was thoroughly impressed with the young man’s musical abilities. 

Maraynna Icke, Nykoda’s mother, had an excellent explanation about why her son can play those instruments despite not being able to see.

“The loss of sight gives his brain so much space to crave other stimulus, and music just kind of fills that void,” she said. 

What an incredibly talented and impressive young man who refuses to allow his disability to hold him back.

One young man’s performance of a Kelly Clarkson classic on American Idol was inspired by the memory of his late father.

Unfortunately, and as ironic as it may sound, death is very much a part of life. Death has likely impacted your life in one way or another. While this may be true, each time it happens, it’s devastating and causes a ton of pain and grief.

It doesn’t matter if it’s the loss of a close friend or a family member, it hurts, and the pain is real. However, after that person’s passing, the memories and the time spent with them become much more valuable and important. Put simply: Cherish every single second, minute and hour with your loved ones because you never know how much time they have left.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Michael Rice, from Hartlepool, England, turned in a star-making audition, blowing Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan away. Michael sang an emotional cover of Kelly Clarkson’s – the original American Idol – “Because of You.” 

Before the audition, Michael explained that his mother mainly raised him while growing up in England. They experienced several hardships and difficulties. His father, Michael explains, was not present in his life. 

However, when Michael reached his late teens, he and his father began a relationship. But soon after they restarted their relationship, Michael’s father suffered a fatal heart attack, which Michael says was related to his dad’s addiction to drugs.

Michael told the judges why he specifically chose the Kelly Clarkson song.

“I think this song means so much to me,” Michael said. “It just reminds me of my dad, and I hope I do him proud.”

During his fantastic performance, the judges exchanged knowing glances. Michael’s cover of the Kelly Clarkson song moved all three of them.

Lionel even thanked the young man for his emotional performance, in which he clearly gave everything he had into it.
